Front wideband Lambda Sensors

Post by RB1 » Mon Jan 04, 2021 2:25 am

Has anyone used Bosch aftermarket 6 pin lambda sensors with good success?

I watched something recently on YouTube where aftermarket NGK and Bosch sensors did not work, so they had to fit genuine parts.

From my sensor I read:
Audi Part Number: 079 906 262 A (6 pin / brown plug / Cylinders 5-8) Bosch part number: 0 258 007 296/297

Online, I also get a different Bosch number corresponding to the manufacturer number: Bosch: 0 258 007 363

If someone has fitted a non OEM Lambda sensor and has some feedback, it would be greatly appreciated!

I've been doing a lot of work at the moment on mine. While the front subframe and gearbox and downpipes are out, I decided to do some preventative maintenance and loosen the 4 lambda sensors, clean the threads and re-apply some anti seize paste, the idea being that if one failed in the future, the hard work would be done, and I wouldn't need to drop the subframe/downpipes again. 3 of the 4 came out ok with a heatgun and some WD-40, but of course the 4th picked up the thread badly, and was a bitch to get out. Going by the manufacturer production date, all 4 appear to be original sensors from 2006, so I am thinking about changing both fronts.
