RS4 B7 not starting - solved

Post by GaryA » Sat Nov 07, 2020 8:28 pm

Over the last month i've had the odd non start which had me doubting myself. A couple of weeks ago we had all sorts of lights and nearly got stranded a long way from home. Eventually got it started, drove straight home into my garage.
After a lot of head scratching i decided to replace the larger RELAYS under the ECU, driver side, under scuttle panel in the engine bay.
Still no start, not even cranking and loads of warning lights and beeps.
I woke up early hours and swapped the smaller relays over. Connected the battery and she started to spit fire Image what a sweet sound.
I've now replaced all relays under the ECU but the smaller ones 8z0951253 seem to be the main power blighters.
My advice to anyone in the situation whereby your beloved refuses to start and throws all sorts of errors, replace the little blighters circled and while your at it replace the bigger ones. It was only £80 from TPS but just swapping the smaller blighters might eliminate a relay, £12 fix.
So so nice to put all my worries to bed and enjoy my pride and joy again today, error free.
Hopefully this helps somebody in the future
