Hi All,
My EPC light came on after having the car valeted and engine bay cleaned on Friday.
Recovery truck came out and read the codes. Unfortunately I dont have full code print out.
He seemed to think it was the MAF sensor may have got wet.
I've attached his diagnosis and he said it would be ok to drive to a garage to fix. It seems to run ok but rev limiter is on.
Any other thoughts on what it could be or does this sound right?
Thx
Andy
Fault code after having engine bay cleaned
Re: Fault code after having engine bay cleaned
I’d also see if with the engine bay clean they hit a vacuum line and caused a leak affecting the operation of the intake runner on bank 1, any rough idling?Munnkey wrote:Hi All,

The EPC once on will indeed limit your revs to 7K until the issue is corrected.

Thanks, will check the vacuum lines. It seems to run smoothly. Removed the MAF and it didnt appear wet so its a bit confusing

Do you have obd11 or Vagcom to log the MAF readings?Munnkey wrote:Thanks, will check the vacuum lines. It seems to run smoothly. Removed the MAF and it didnt appear wet so its a bit confusing

Re: Fault code after having engine bay cleaned
Unfortunately I dont have odb11 or Vagcom. I guess its maybe not enough information without full logs. Appreciate you taking the time to respond. I have a horrible feeling that fixing will involve little more than drying as its a big coincidence the day after an engine bay clean theres a sensor issue, but coincidences happen i guess. Will take it to a garage tomorrow to be sure.

Re: Fault code after having engine bay cleaned
Need to be careful cleaning engine room.
I had twice been the problem. The first time was the spark plug then the second was a few days ago, rpm starts to go up and down on the first startup, the second startup is normal.
I still check with my technician, order the fuel pumps (have some of the leaks), pressure sensor, ignition coil, and flat contact.
Hope anything to be okay.

Re: Fault code after having engine bay cleaned
Turns out it was coincidence....manifold flaps were sticking. MRC deflap carbon clean and stage 2 map done. Very happy with the results!
