Transmission system

Hi guys, new to this Forum.

I have a B7 RS4 and am wondering what the service position is on the gearbox / transmission oil.

Is this sealed for life or should it be changed intermittently.

Look forward to thoughts and advice.

Audi say sealed for life but people with any sense change the oil in them. Best to do the rear diff oil at the same time.

I did mine just after I got it, will probably do it again at the next service.

There’s a great ‘how to’ here in the FAQ thread which includes the diff as well

Well worth doing

imo necessary
Firm believer in an initial change after 3-4k miles (break-in)
And every 40-50k after that

Hi Foweybuoy, sorry to slightly hijack the thread but is yours the black avant I sometimes see parked up in Fowey (going by your username and putting two and two together)?
