Buy a car with ceramics, swap them over and resell it. That’s the cheapest way.

I keep a look out for B7 ceramics in the vain hope I can get a decent set at a reasonable price but all that seems to available are B8 ceramics and they’re not cheap.

I was in this dilemma after Mr JWW convinced me that using my RS4 for touring in Europe and the mountains would be a whole heap more fun with Ceramics. I searched and looked but there are problems with second hand/abused Ceramics and for that reason I plumped for new from Audi. £6K new....
You get what you pay for. You pay for what something is worth in your view...
Cheap Ceramics aren't always good ones...
These two PDFs helped me a lot. I hope they do you...

I know they look cool and all that and no doubt don’t fade as much out of the box. However a decent set of pads i.e. hawk, ds3000, RS29 and some high boiling point fluid 600-660 and braided lines is really all you need for repeated fast road / track work. Much cheaper too.

My concern would be that until you get some heat into the front brakes, the rears are doing most of the work. This would appear to be backed up by a forum member having to change rear discs and pads more frequently once they swapped to ceramic fronts.

Lady P, was that 6k for all new discs and pads? If so, that was a steal, especially from Audi.

...that was for the entire front setup but fitting by my specialist was a fair bit extra. There are some deals to be had via Audi and it is worth shopping around. Mine came from Germany when the €/£ was just too good to ignore for parts. Sadly that has gone now...

33K mile car in Dungannon with Ceramics for sale on FB... £26K but maybe after a swap of brakes with yours you could realise £20+K still?
