Here we go again, just spent a fortune getting the car motd, went to check coolant for antifreeze and find oil in the coolant bottle, not sludge just like clots of oil, checked dipstick all ok, not overheating driving ok, what can cause this, remember a mate had similar problems with an oil cooler fault, anyone know

Yip, looks like there is a small primary oil cooler bolted on the side of the engine block which coolant passes through, if this is cracked internally it would cause oil to mix with coolant.
Generally with burst oil over water coolers the oil mixes with the cooling system first as oil circuit has the higher working pressure over coolant. You could drain the cooling system and see what comes out, then decide whether to re-fill and keep an eye on it. I'd replace the oil cooler asap you don't want the coolant to go the other way and mix with the oil , I found a part no but not sure if it's correct 079 117 015P

Good lad will check that out,thinking of changing the cooling rad and pipes as well

Heard good reports on DH Auto from a friend, although I've not used them....yet. I've only heard of oil cooler hoses leaking, there's a good few threads on here on how to get them off as they seize

Probably, I think most change the hoses and cooler because they can't slacken the seized hoses off and end up damaging the cooler connections. If & when mines leaks from hoses I'd use a Dremel with cutting disc to remove the hose connections and save the cooler. What's the point in replacing the cooler if it's only the hoses that have perished with age and started to leak

Ye true, getting them to check mine, and see what it needs. Spent a fortune on it the last couple of weeks

Don't think so, they'll be options to buy non-oem hoses from somewhere which will be just as good if not better. Do a bit of searching on here and you'll find what make others have fitted.

JH Motorsports aftermarket hoses. They’re in America though

Good stuff. I have a clutch kit and brakes from them.
