Mine was the pump that had failed, it’s driven via a shaft that runs through the block and from memory the engine has to be lowered slightly to get it out, my mechanic said it was fun
£1600 roughly from memory

Who did the re-gas? You can tell if the system is working correctly by the gauges on the air con system.
Why did you have it re-gassed, cause it wasn't working at all or cause it wasn't as cold as it used to be?

Not sure if it is there is no drop in rpm when switched on and the air con fan dose not drop in,
But i have tested the fan with
VCDS an all is well

Midland vw done the regas. I had the re-gas done because of having the front end off when fitting the the supercharger but saying that it has never been cold cold since having the car thinking about it.

You could either have a leak which they should have informed you of when re-gassing, or you have a blockage in the system, which they also could/should have informed you about.
