Front Wheel Spacers

After some opinions,
Do you think there would be a problem running 5mm or 8mm spacers on the front wheels to enable upgraded wheels to clear the calipers but not running any on the back? or maybe running narrower spacers on the back?
Any thoughts would be appreciated especially if anyone has experience of it.
Was wondering if the wider front track might reduce understeer?

The OEM front track is actually slightly narrower than the rear (I forget by how much but think it’s 10mm difference)
I’ve run wider front spacers than rear (due to caliper clearance up front, and arch clearance at rear) that effectively evened out front and rear track widths. No negative effects noted.
Note, you can’t get a hubcentric 5mm spacer. 8mm is the smallest size for hubcentric.

Wouldn't it look a bit odd with front spacers but not rear? Might as well go 8mm all round

Iv Tried them on and with normal driving doesnt seem to feel any different, and dont think it looks odd at all. Actually not that noticeable. The problem is with the wheels I have fitted and 8mm spacers on the back the tyre catches the rear arch, I might try 5mm on front and back and see if that misses the calipers and the rear arch, althou then I wont be able to run hubcentric!!!
Id like to run no spacers at all but the front wheels wont clear the caliper that way.

As above, do not run non hub-centric.
What size tyres are on the wheels? Are they 20" wheels?
Lots of people run 8mm and even 10mm with zero rubbing, not sure why yours is rubbing.

Non OEM wheels I believe?
Wheel width, offset, concavity (is that a word?) all come into play

Yeah running the RS6 C7 Wheels which are 9.5j with et35 offset, so tight on the rear with spacers.
Think ill either stick with the 8mm hubcentrics on the front or maybe get them machined down as I reckon I only need 4-5mm to clear the caliper.

Remove the wheel liners that might help.

Just get the 5mm spacers on the front. Your wheel bolts should make sure the wheel sit central. If you get wheel wobble jack the car up and try undoing and redoing the wheel bolts again.

What tyres you running? A different size or brand could will make a difference. But others run these wheels without rubbing so you should be ok with the correct spacers.
