I'm after a set of front brake pads to go with my new discs. Main Dealer and TPS both looking £330 inc VAT for genuine replacements. I don't use the car on any tracks, and it doesn't get abused at all. Having read numerous posts, I'm thinking the best option is the Ferodo FDB4165 Premier pads. Can anyone confirm these are a good alternative to the Audi pads, or if there are any others that I should consider?
And does anyone know where is the best place to get the Ferodo pads online? Sometimes the websites are confusing because they say its a front axle set, and then somewhere else on the page it says there are 4 pads, whereas I need 8 of course.

I use Ferodo DS2500 for the front and rate them highly. They have no sensors, but hey waht diod we do it the 80's, just look through your wheels to see how low they're getting.

£248 for 8 pads 18/07/2016

I fitted a set with new OEM discs last year after reading everything I could find about brake pads online and they seem fine. I don't regret the decision. No noises when cold etc.
There are plenty on ebay

Have you used the DS2500 in anger (on track) at all? I'm thinking I'll go for either these or some Hawk HPS pads, but unsure how they'll be on the track and long periods of hard driving (ring/autobahn)
Good shout on that site though, £300 now for fronts which still isn't a bad price.

I've used them on the RIng for about 5 laps with great response. Ferodo do more track focused pads, but for all round I find these the pads I've used.

I think I’m going to go with DS3000 or performance friction. Considered DS1.11 as came well recommended but think they might be a little too track biased. Hawk also, but a lot of threads talking of problems across different enthusiast forums.

Are these priced per side I presume at that price ? ( ie need to buy two sets ). The description states packed quantity of 8 though which would seem rather cheap?

No, per axle set (8 pads). Does seem cheap, but then I only paid £63. And at this price if you really don't like them you can always buy some more expensive ones.
