Starter Motor replacement costs.

Hi,
Has anybody replaced the starter motor recently? What sort of costs am I looking at?
Had to bump start the beast on Friday to get her started. AA man suggested that as the car was 11 years old there was probably dead spots/dirt on the motor/brushes. I had already replaced the clutch switches in the morning. After the bump start it has fired up perfectly every time since, but want to get a new starter sorted asap. Having just spent £3k on bits over the last couple of weeks I don't really want to be blowing another few £k on replacing the starter at this week.
Cheers
Martin
P.S. Can not recommend BCS (Brake Calliper Specialists - Nottingham) enough. Had all my nipples helicoiled...
, plus a calliper clean and performance test all for £210. Clean bill of health (and peace of mind) for the callipers all done in 3 days. Very professional service and a much cheaper option than the new replacement cost of £2.7k (parts only) form a local stealer.
