Had a service today on a B7 and they’ve picked up she needs new front brake discs at the next pad change. What sort of prices should I be paying? And am I better just paying for the front and back to be done?

I was quoted £895 off the stealers just for the front discs.

Thats the cheapest i have seen front discs without waiting for a euro car oarts flash sale, im looking for rear options at the moment as you could fing pagid discs for around £400-459 i think but they seem to have disappeared, i think id rather spend money to upgrade to two piece rears than pay the dealer price

JHM offer a good alternative if you can wait a few weeks for shipping, install yourself and save a few quid. I’ve had a set for over 2 years and I can’t fault them.

Yes, same as the JHM version but cheaper.

^ just spoke to them actually. Really helpful outfit. They do fit the stock hats so a good replacement. They can also do a similar two piece rear set up as the original is one piece. They can grove rears to match the fronts, but as the stock ones are drilled that probably won’t work in this instance.

Did they say how much the rear kit is? I quite fancy the reyland fronts but want the rears to match

Got the JHM setup all round in mine. Absolutely brilliant and so much lighter than the originals!

Thanks for your replies.

Don’t shoot me down now but I’ve got a works van the gets serviced at Kwik Fit and I picked my van up this morning I asked them for a price for pads and discs. Their price was about £385 all in.

You should of taken them up on the offer, they obviously haven’t got a clue what they’re talking about Image

I'm looking to replace the front discs soon as well. The jhm or reyland option certainly sounds a good deal. From people's experience how easily do the old discs unbolt from the original mounting bell ? The bolts on mine look quite rusty.

I replaced mine 2 years ago, the bolts on the bells came off very easily. Just make sure when installing them onto the new rotors that you use the correct torque as recommended by the manufacturer and also to tighten them in the correct pattern as to not warp the rotors.
