Comfort to buckets, s button bolster inflate?

Hi guys, I'm sure it's come up already but can't seem to find anything.
I'm going to be swapping my comforts to buckets this weekend. Has anyone come up with a way of coding the inflatable bolster to work with the s button?
And how do I code the airbag light out with
VCDS if it comes on?
Thanks in advance!

Hi,
I did the same thing with mine a few years ago. As far as I know there is no way to get the bolsters to inflate when you press the S button on the steering wheel on a car that has swapped from comforts to buckets. You can toggle it on and off in the DIS once you enable the coding but it still does nothing.
To be honest, I would have switched it off anyway, so all my S button does is change the throttle response as my exhaust valves are bypassed.
I got lucky, my car was already coded so I had no airbag warning lights when I changed the seats over. The bolts were not exactly tight either so I suspect the previous owner had removed the comfort seats at some stage as well.
Will see if I can find the coding changes for you.

I thought you plugged a resister into the loom to stop the air bag warning lights coming on.

You do but on the later spec bucket seats it is already built into the yellow connector plug.

Thanks for the info! The seat I'm buying have a yellow plug so fingers crossed the airbag shouldn't be an issue! I'm really wanting the bolsters to inflate with the sport button, so will have to do some more digging!

Managed to get the seats in yesterday, no airbag issues! Really after the bolsters to inflate with the sport button if anyone can point me in the right direction? Cheers

Could do with knowing how the s button sends a signal to the seat etc.. could maybe a wiring problem with cars that came with comfort? I noticed the wiring is different on the red plugs?

Have a read through that I'm not great technically but there is a control unit for that might need reprogramming or might be a different control unit for comfort seats/buckets, hopefully you will get a sound answer from a tech guy on here!

Anyone got a reliable source for air bag resistors for the older seats? ie. Not the built-into-the-seat type. Need to pick up one to cancel a warning myself

Have you looked at the coding in the comfort module via
VCDS?

Mine is an old B5 jalopy tip-runner, the passenger seat is giving an error on
VCDS, so I want/need to unplug it and plug in a resistor instead

Hi Ian,
If you fancy doing it yourself its easy enough...
The connector that plugs into the box on the car side is part number 8D0971974 which cost about £5 each from your dealer.
And the resistors I used are 4.7 ohm 0.25 watt which can be picked up for peanuts from ebay -
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Film-R ... 1259792533.
Then a bit of heatshrink over the top of the connectors once the resistors are in place... and voila...

Mike
EDIT - part number above is what I used in my B7
