Streaming music solution? Got Fiscon unit, streaming quality awful.

Fitted the Fiscon kit to my B7 RS4. Great for calls etc.

Music quality is dreadful and unlistenable, as it's A2DP and via the telephone input.

Any other solutions out there to stream music from my iphone at decent quality?

Cheapest way is to get an AuxIn sorted on the head unit.

HazzyDayz did mine. Came out to my house, fitted and tested it in no time.

Note that the headphone port on my phone (Samsung) and the input were "incompatible" (line level I think) so I needed a little USB DAC to get decent volume. But that cost peanuts as well.

The Aux cable on mine is in the tray under the armrest so convenient and easily removed so it looks 100% std. I think they usually put it in the glovebox.

What was the cost and where is hazydays based?

Is it easily fittable? I fitted the fiscon myself. What aux stuff etc do i need?

The only issue with the aux I. Is the sound quality again. Better than disconnected but the volume is capped. You can get an iPod cable for the glovebox which connects into where the cd changer does. Then get a tune2air to plug into the end of the iPod cable. This will give you MP3 quality whilst streaming over Bluetooth.

This is what you need:

Although I agree, aux is the easiest and simplest.

So the black box is the aux box and only needed if inwant aux option?

So instead if i opt for iphone cable and tune2air i only need the cable and tune2air, remove cd changer and im done?

The black box replaces the cd changer. Fits in the same hole and uses the same connection . Inside is an iPod doc connection. Fit the tune2air to that. Aux is separate from my post above

Hazzy Dayz:

I don't have the volume limit Jon notes but then I don't use an iPod/iPhone and don't go through the headphone jack as noted. The sound quality is very good (set up properly a wired connection will always trump other methods).

I thought iPod connections could only go on certain (later) versions of the infotainment system?

That's interesting, do you not notice a significant difference between aux, CD and Radio.

Wound up as loud as it would go, with the phone turned up as loud as it would go you only got about 60% of the CD volume.

With the iPhone connection you don't get that.

The AMI can only be used with the later RNSE. The item listed above can be used with lots of older units. I've seen it attached to a single din 07 TT.

That's interesting Jon. I've used a number of silolutions before but found the 3G RNSE and AMI set up the best, albeit the most expensive. This does look like it offers a great deal of that, but presumably a lot cheaper, given you keep the existence mg RNSE. Do you have the part numbers at all? And is it simply a case of swapping the CD changer for the iPod interface? Tune2air is required in the 3G RNSE / AMI set up too, so no change there.

Do you get track listings, etc and ease of use for playlists, etc?

I think this is the 3G solution you talk about. It lists the track name but you have to control the music from the phone and cannot control it from the RNSE. The AMI with the later RNSE gives you full functionality but is significantly more expensive.

I use the same set up as Jon. Cost me around £40 a used tune2air. Although I'm sure the full swap out for a mk2 rns-e unit and ami is going to be better, for the costs it takes to do it I couldn't justify it. Haven't found a connection or quality in music issue since using it

Thanks Steve.

I have the RNSE2 and AMI now but the setup Steve us is exactly why I was explaining. Affordable and far more effective than the AUX.

That's what I was expecting you'd say Jon, cheers. What are the rough costs for this set up?

Not sure, all eBay purchases as the parts aren't made anymore.

Apple took Tine2air to court so they no longer make the one that fits the iPod cable.

Less than £100 I'd of said.
