Aqua Gleam 30ppm

Post by Starry » Sat May 20, 2017 7:43 am

Ive been looking at getting a Aqua Gleam water filter to aid with the drying process.
Does anyone use this? is it any good? is there a better alternative at around the same money?

Mine has just died. Had it for a few years now and it does a good job, I need to replace it though now.

I used it nearly every weekend for the first year, then cause I was moving house it was sporadic. Bet I've had around 60 uses which is good going really.

I bought one, used it a few times just for the final rinse but didn't seem to work very well. Maybe i was being too stingey with it. Don't use it anymore.

I use one. I really love using it. I only use it for a final rinse and it does make the drying process a lot easier. I also live in an area with quite soft water so it's lasted me just over a year cleaning 2 cars regularly.

Aqua Gleam 30ppm

Post by doodlebug » Sun May 21, 2017 9:05 am

I had a 0ppm filter. We have very hard water so I wasn't expecting it to last forever. I don't think I reached double digits and that was purely using for final rinse.

I have two 30 and 0 piped together, they help a bit but wouldn't bother replacing them. Buy a hand held blower instead

I bought a window cleaning vessel from eBay and use this. I also have a TDS meter so can keep an eye on it but it delivers 0 ppm. I have exhausted the resin once and bought a big bag of resin which will give me 2 fills of the vessel. I shake it up every other use.

This is the setup I bought, just use for the final rinse - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/11-7Litre-DI- ... xyXTRR-7OP

Not sure who from as I bought in 10 years ago now, this is the resin but the vessel I linked to comes full.

We have hard water 300 ppm - get a cheap TDS meter if you are looking at this stuff - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Digital-TDS-3 ... Swo4pYRTj4

Good call MB2 - I think I'm going to give a DI vessel a go.

You won't be disappointed with the DI vessel. I have very hard water and I use the DI vessel for last rinse. It is walk away - no need to dry.

I use an aqua blade and drying towel but that is for speed - the DI water is so "slippery" it just skates off.

Do get the tester and shake it up every few uses though as it starts to spot at 10 ppm or so and then the performance will quickly collapse. Also run the water slowly through it.
