Group buys?

I've been following the many carbon parts being made available for the RS4 recently and began to wonder.

If every time a new part arrives, 20-30 people from here add it to their RS4.

Does every car start to look the same? What's unique and personal about everyone have the same parts?

I have or course participated in them as the saving is excellent but what constitutes too much?

Opinions?

I can see were you are coming from with this but with our cars being limited numbers anyway it's not like you will see 1,000s of them all looking the same

That's a good point. I guess my thoughts were, every time I go to an Audi show I'm gonna see two or three car clubs all displaying the same cars with the same mods in different colours.

I guess the same could be said for exhausts, re maps and coilovers?

Yeah I guess it could but if people really personalise a car then it will have difference stance, different wheels, different interiors etc

I did mention this recently. It seems that every rs4 that I see online at the moment is sporting a carbon rear diffuser, soon it will be unique not having one. I think the reason these are popular at the moment is due to the lowish cost for a nice aesthetic gain. I also don't think that a few pieces of carbon are really going to make your car truly unique and with the endless list of mods available there's so much people can do to stand out, it can just be so expensive.

You'd be hard pushed to find 2 identical cars. Even when standard there are many differences but once you start modifying then tjere are even less chances of an identicsl car. Of course there is a high risk that there might be 2 black saloons at a car show with the same rear diffuser but I bet there will be many other things that are different (Wheels, spacers, ride height, badges, interiors etc).

Ps the only carbon on my B7 now is under the bonnet. None inside anymore or on the outside. Now that might be unique soon.

By the sounds of it, that will be very unique!

I understand there are lots of individual tweaks but from what have read recently, 20-30 cars will all have: THE SAME carbon rear diffuser, front splitter, side skirts?, 4 engine covers, rear bumper strip and now badges?

Each to their own i guess.

I would only buy bolt on parts oem fixing
Personalise the car to yourself . In a non charva way
Bit like wheels it personalises the car

You can remove those parts ,sell them on /if you sell the car

Completely agree. I only ever change anything that can be put back and only for things which don't require drilling.

But are you adding the carbon to make it different or to and it look nice? If you like it then just get it. Doesn't matter how many other people have. In fact before the new ones came along 99.99% of RS4s all had exactly the same rear diffuser and that was ok. If you are doing it to make your car unique then you need to go back to the drawing board (although it is more unique than it is currently without a carbon diffuser). Personally i don't think it's anything to worry about, as long as you like the look of your car.

None of our parts require drilling they all use oem fixings and can easily be removed

It's not really about standing out, for me it's about how the car makes me feel when i get out my car and walk away from it and take a glance back at it with a little smile on my face.

Obviously the glorious V8 is a massive factor too.

This is a really good view.
