So after alot of help on this site, ive decided to not waste money on a milltek ect, and go the straight pipe option / seal off vac pipes. So i have two questions that will then put this matter to rest.
1. are straight pipes something you buy ? and any advice where i can purchase these? OR is is a case of going to an exhaust center and just getting the muffler removed and get them to weld / fix the pipes straight through ? assuming they do this.
2. secondly i would like bigger bore tips tan the standard, are these removable / replaceable ? or can this only be dont with actually buying new rear exhausts with wider bores.
cheers all

Hmmm. By straight pipes, you mean complete system replacing all silencers, cats and mufflers?? If that's the case lol I strongly advise you to rethink such venture, unless you really hate your neighbours or hard of hearing yourself... this will be loud. Nascar loud...
if you mean replacing Center pipe only? Than you can either buy them online or like you sad get an exhaust fabricators this task.
Rear tips aren't removable. But if you want to replace tips, they can be cut of and almost any other welded on.
Good luck! And if you do decide to go complete straigh pipe route lol please please come meet us on the 18th at Boxhill!

You can buy the pipes on eBay but it would be cheaper to just get a custom exhaust place to make some up for you as they have to cut the centre resonator out
If your wanting to be able to go back to a standard exhaust they can put sleeves on for you but this will be extra cost
Why would you want bigger tips it's the audi trademark

If you are happy to butcher the stock exhaust just take it t to any exhaust place and tell them to cut the centre resonator out and disconnect and plug the tail pipe flap vacuum hoses. Simples.

Which pipes can you buy? Are you talking about the Milltek non res centre section? Will this just fit into the OEM exhaust?

no i thought their were pipe sections you buy once the middle muffler is removed, but apparently i just get a garage to add pipe work in place of it.
IM LEARNING LOL

That question was aimed at Ilya and Rickster as they both said you can buy them online.

Just go straight through, ditch the back boxes!! There was a guy here that did it recently.... It lasted a day.
I really want to try get and someone to set my exhaust up so that the back boxes are removable and i can switch them for straight pipes. This would of course only be for shows etc.... Not sure it's feasible, it might be too much of a pain in the ass to switch over especially on the side of the road..
Mike do you think it would be any louder than that Tubi you used to have?

They are the right size but will they fit into the cut out section? I think the milltek runs a slightly different path to the OEM exhaust. Unless someone has tried this and can confirm it works I would avoid it. But if it does work then you could buy the Milltek H pipe which would join onto the front end of the centre section and then join onto the OEM downpipes / cats.

If you are going to all that trouble then get the piggies done at the same time and also think about have an X-Pipe done while your at it.
