Does anyone run a full decat? Is it worth the hassle for BHP gain with the remap and messing about when it comes to MOT time.

Currently running a non res non valved Miltek.

Cheers.

Not running decat yet but i have the pipes to go on. I dont think there a massive gain to be made but they sound alot growlier. Find a friendly mot station

Obviously more to gain if you don't already have a pre cat delete.

I have no cats on mine, we put it on the tester and it was about 100% out for passing.

My car was decat when I bought it. The fumes gave me a headache.

Keep the OEM main cats (200 cell) or replace with sports cats if you're changing the whole system. Just ditch the 400 cell pre-cats; they're an unnecessary restriction.

My brother has a M3 which is full decat he has to drive with window open to deal with the fumes haha.

I could deal with the fumes as it's not my daily car. I'm weighing up my options between full decat and gutting the precats.

I have full decat with non res Milltek. No fumes in the cabin, you must have a leak if you're having to open windows. Sounds awesome!

I have a full decat also & couldn't be happier, sounds better & makes me feel a little better about the whole tax situation, we all pay more than enough so i will run what i want.

That's possible - the system that was on the car when I bought it was complete turd (from a company called vortex - avoid like the plague). It only ended up as a decat as the sports cats had failed, and then had been chopped out and welded back up, which I only discovered later.

Turd lol Yeah I remember reading your thread and the hassle you had.

I had similar disaster on my car when I bought it. The guy had actually removed the main 400 cats instead of the pre cats although they were gutted but it was a mess.

I have Milltek cat bypass and a non res valved system. I get no fumes at all, even the wife says it sounds quieter than with cats. It's screams its balls off at 7500 revs in 3rd and at 170mph + is deafening. But that's extreme. Normal driving it pops and bangs nicely. I rate it highly, there has been some criticism of Milltek of late but I like my system. Weldfab wasn't available at the time, which is what I would go for now. If you're located near Coventry then your welcome to come round and go for a ride. Or better still wait for the next meet and see and hear all of the variables.
