Dont sell it , nothing compares

Post by Markwalker41 » Tue Jan 24, 2017 3:35 pm

I'm in a pretty crap situation at the minute where i will shortly have to sell my beautiful B7 , I promised my wife when I got it id only have it a year as its hers to use during the week (she doesn't work so it sits in the garage a fair bit), getting burgled 5 days after getting her hasn't helped as they were after the car but she just wants something larger as we now have two kids one being in a pram, I've looked at and test driven in recent weeks RS6 C6,S4 B8,RS4 B8,C63 AMG Estate and frankly none of them make me feel like the B7 does from the minute you get in it, I found myself desperately trying to find bits I loved about them but with most I just liked certain arts of them, The Merc notably was all over the place and looked like a taxi inside! im hoping to get this summer in her as its looking like a 4x4 next and I've convinced her these are cheaper in the summer :) thoughts on value of mine would be appreciated and I would class the car as overall mint condition (this is also what MRC called it when it was mapped )

RS4 Saloon
Sprint Blue
4 owners
67k
Wing backs (heated and electric)
FBSW
Sunroof
Sat NAV
Clifford alarm installed with proximity sensor (installed last year for £600)
MRC stage 2 Remap and health check
Brand new front discs and pads done under warranty from John Holland @ Sheffield (this is where I bought it from )
All tyres are excellent
Wheels just been refurbed powder coated (they weren't damaged but finish wasn't to my standards)
Mostly main dealer with two indy services and one local garage
Will be sold with fresh MOT and major service from indy Audi specialist

will post pictures later if required when not on works server

Great spec, relatively low miles, looked lovely when you bought it.

I'd say put it up for 21k to take 20k and see what happens.

The C6 feels a bit boat-y IMHO. A powerboat on the straights, mind, but a boat nonetheless. C7 is a huge improvement in that regard.
B7 RS4 saloon Misano red, comfy seats, JHM tune & JHM full exhaust with cats and resonators - gone.
C5 RS6 Avant Daytona/Cognac - gone.
981 Cayman GTS Gray/Orange.

Will those bigger cars fit in the garage? And are newer faster models not just more of a theft risk? Your wife wanting to drive around in them?

Another option - the man maths option - keep the RS4 in the garage, and get a big fast estate car for the wife and kids to run alongside it? To coincide with the arrival of their first child, my best mate recently collected a Skoda Superb Estate 4x4 (Audi S3 engine and S tronic drivetrain) in top spec L&K trim, an absolutely ridiculous amount of car for the money, less than even the most basic A4 Avant (ignoring the weedy entry level 1.4 T)

Lease / PCP deals on these are also blinding atm - Skoda I think were doing 0% - handy if you have cash locked up in the RS4 and / or don't want to buy another car outright. All car manufacturers are still desperate to sell new cars! The Golf has just been facelifted, I know VW were doing lease deals on the Golf R estate a while back if you need to boot space

Keeps the RS4 mint now that prices are firming up, in five or ten years time its going to be ones like yours which will command a premium (Sprint blue, buckets, low mileage etc)

Hi
To answer a couple of posts

JULES/ JCVIGGEN ..The C6 RS6 felt big and I dint feel very connected to the car , what possibly made it worse is i drove my friends C7 RS6 a week before and that was amazing but just too much for a second car

DAVID RS4...The B7 Avant just doesn't float my boat unfortunately

IAN C...Yes they will fit but when we were burgled we weren't using the garage (we are now), im looking at the finances over the next week or so to see 100% what options I have as we had discussed getting a third car but she's not yet sold on it, ive read on here to many times people regretting selling them an di know mines pretty special so lets see, ive had two pm's from members since posting this expressing an interest and I know selling it wont be a problem but I guess there's a reason for that as they are just fantastic cars

That would do so well on our roads, loaded up, looks like a really comfy ride too. I keep forgetting how riced up, arse-scraping estates are a cracking choice for a family over here in this day & age ;)

It's most likely on air, so although you mock, it probably is quite comfy, and can handle speed humps easily with a flick of a switch to raise the height!

I know, I know, I just don't get slamming and bagging most of the time. Don't get shopping lists on cars either, the example shown has it all.
