Im looking to get my alloys refurbed and im leaning towards the titanium finish (L8AU) as I have my car is black with black optics.

The question is do I go for a satin, matte or gloss finishiwth L8AU? Or do I go for a stock 'silver' colour.

L8AU with a gloss lacquer works really really well. I found the normal finish that Audi produce too matt.

I had my C6 RS6 wheels done like this and they were superb!

Have a look at this thread I did for one of mine. It might help you decide

Looks stunning Sam. Is that satin or matte?

I do like the gloss but I dont really like shiny alloys. Unless I put some chrome wing mirror caps to make them match :biggrin3:

Cheers. I asked for the OEM finish, which I believe is satin.

The silver wheels look great if you have the standard RS4 aluminium windows, roof bars, grille, and mirrors. But once you have the black optics pack, then toning down the wheels and mirrors by painting them in the Titan colour really helps to finish the appearance. You must do the mirrors though, as it'd look odd otherwise and that brings in new problems - the wheel refurb companies don't want to touch them. I managed to find a company called Chichester Cars who do proper paint strip wheel refurb and then painted the mirrors onsite, ensuring a colour match.

I made abit of a blunder guys. The factory titanium finish is alot lighter than the finish that was on the car previously

Your wheels look like they were anthracite before.

Some places use a darker shade than others for anthracite.
This is how mine looked and is supposed to be anthracite but is a little darker than I expected.

Sorry to say fella, think your right. Darker looks better.

Refurbed colour L8AU would be my choice, the original is too dark.

Yours look almost black Mike. Gloss black to me.

I actually thought my previous colour was L8AU looking at others online. I had a look at Faisals alloys when he had them done in L8AU and they looked the same as mine pre-refurb.

I am still leaning towards getting them done again next week.
