Service time, which plugs, air filter etc indie?

Post by Studiowise » Mon Jan 02, 2017 7:48 pm

As someone who has recently been in the market looking for an RS, there were only 7 in my price bracket and I started with all with proven FASH even though they had maybe 5-10k more miles than those with Audi history until out of warranty and then mixed after that including Audi Specialists. On here you guys know and trust the specialists, to Joe Public, it means nothing if they don't do some homework.

Service time, which plugs, air filter etc indie?

Agreed, receipts do not prove competence of the bloke undoing the sump plug. Not saying stealers are great, but if you have FASH you'll get good will from Audi Uk and the dealer network. Skimping over the odd hundred quid on a car that started its life 50k plus is just daft.

Each to their own . I went to Southend Audi today as I needed a few interior bulbs .

Why I was there I asked the very nice young lady the cost of a oil service

£356 for oil and filter service , the oil is £170 so she said !!

If I wanted the Spark plugs done the total would be

£670 :audibash:

Save yourself £200 + ill be doing mine again tomorrow . Good idea putting a hold in the undertray too

Just priced up parts on eurocarparts

Oil filter with latest discount code £113.50

Southend Audi do let you supply your own oil, filters, plugs etc as I've done it for over 4 years now so it doesn't work out too bad IMO.

Think it was £80 more than an indi which I'm more than happy to pay to keep the stamp in the book.

£153 to carry out the oil service, thats me supplying oil and filter, its stomachable (just) to maintain full audi history.York came in at £230 which is far too much for such a quick n easy task, that would buy you 4hrs proper work at a good indy

Genuine plugs are less than £100 and unless a complete terry on the spanners a doddle to do,ive just done mine, less than an hour and thats being uber cautious.
