So leaning towards B16s, but just read that the KWs are made of stainless steel. The front B16s have something called 3c coating. I'm looking to keep my RS4 forever, my previous car lasted me 12.5 years. So durabilty is my key concern, has anybody had billys for 5+ years had any issues with corrosion, same with the KWs
Another note, I've been told that the actual construction of the B16 front damper is a lot more substantial than the B14 with thickers damper rods, how does the KW v3 and KW clubsports compare, are the build to last?
Have been reading a lot of american forums and they love the Ohlins, but they look like they are alloy bodies, with about 5 months of salty roads a year here in scotland, don't think they would last very well

I've had KW V3's for over 3 years and driven right through the winter and been skiing 3 times. They look absolutely mint and have no issues at all.
They are fully servicable if anything did go wrong. Here's a recent photo:

Have you got uprated anti roll bars as well? I've just had b14s fitted and haven't really driven the car yet to see how it feels but I'm interested if this also needs doing.
Sorry to hijack your post but I'm sure this could be useful information for you as well

Another good thing to do is once you have set the coilovers to a height you are happy with you can
use plumbers ptfa tape I think its called over the surplus threads which helps them stop getting corroded
and seized in case you feel the need to alter the ride height in the future

I've had my rs4 for 4 years, the v3's were on it when I bought it. No issues at all.
Thanks for that tip Jules, if/when I replace them I'll do that.

Out of interest, how accessable are the adjusters of the V3s, I have a pit in the garage floor, would they all be easy to adjust?
PTFE tape is quite fragile, have a search for denso tape, it's like a cloth strip impregnated with sticky grease, messy to put on but widely used on offshore applications against salt spray

I used Denso on the pipe joints when I replaced the oil cooler and pipes on mine. Excellent stuff and, as you say, much more durable than PTFE
