Gloss black grille?

Post by harding » Sun Nov 27, 2016 3:41 pm

Hey!
My front bumper is going into the paint Shop in a few weeks aswell as the frame from the grill. I was having this thought painting the grille gloss black aswell, but im not sure if it would look any good. Did anyone do this? Any pictures around?

Someone has done it before and I thought it looked good, can't remember who though. But if it was me I would have the fog light grilles sprayed to match too.

I've got an RS6 grille in gloss black put in place of mine. Removes hideous plinth in the middle. Parking sensors were relocated in the bumper. Fog light grilles are also sprayed on mine too

I have cut some diamond pieces of wood that fit through the grill and then twist 90 degrees to lock the plate in place. There's foam behind the plate to stop it rubbing against the grill. :biggrin3:

The splitter is a one off in the bottom picture. I got someone to make up something tha looked like the shape of the MTM RS6 splitter as I really liked it. The weave is terrible and it's not fully finished and a tiny bit short where it goes towards the wheels.

The guy lost interest in doing it and never bothered contacting me to finish it. I'd love to have it properly made as it does look amazing. Is anyone interested in getting hem made or can actually properly make one from my template? Jules?
