Have you replaced the battery as well ? Other than the actual button possibly being at fault

I have a brand new starter button I bought for a project that never happened if you want it Andy (I was going to get the button fabricated in some sort of metal and possibly laser etched).

I've had the exact same thing - Starter was replaced twice however...

Do you have any aftermarket alarm by any chance?

That's the next step in my saga, Audi say they have replaced everything on their side.

With mine as it stands its one time like every 200 starts that's what's annoying it may not do it for another 4 months

Yeah, mine was very sporadic so the garage never actually seen it happening so they couldn't trace it fully.

Mine has just started, (or not!), doing it.
Seems to be worse first start of the day, particularly when cold.
Took ages this morning, then re-started perfectly.

Mine was the polar opposite.
Only ever an issue when warm...

Mine did this, it was corrosion in the connector that goes into the back of the starter
