Match the roof would be a cheap and easy start.
No matter where you go, there you are.
Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...
We're working as fast we can to put the car back together; youd be surprized how much work has/is going into this. Lol
The door alignment took 2 days to get right alone. Most people when painting a car wouldnt strip it to the extent we have(a rolling shell with just dash and wiring loom left). Added to that everything is special order when i order from Audi so is taking 2 weeks to get parts.
Ok so the original trim that was on the RS4 was the standard Aluminium look which we have now painted matte black.(black optics pack) The mirrors were also painted in Titanium L8AU(I would love carbon shells but havent seen any).
Sorry to say i cant stand plasti-dipping anything as it looks cheap. We have the equipment to do it as well.
The look i'm trying to achieve is modified OEM+.
Did Audi ever supply the RS4 with black mirrors?

Nothing on this car has been cheap or easy! The modified VAG scene is non existent in dubai so it makes doing a build like this pushing honey uphill with a toothpick!

I don't like it at all, my opinion is it looks a little cheap, and doesn't have the look of real carbon.
Audi fitted the car with real carbon so it should try to be matched up.
I will be getting all my bits done with real carbon in the closest weave possible.
2x2 weave, right?
Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...

I believe it is a 2x2 weave. Carbon Desingz describe it as 245:iconic78 wrote:Jules wrote:pule333 wrote:Why not?

I agree about carbon dipping. But you could get them skinned.
And I don't think there was any option on the B7 RS4 mirrors other than the Alu that you started with, then later there was a titan variation (not sure how you specced this colour or if it was a stand alone option, I know the limited edition cars came with titan mirrors). Don't think black or body coloured was ever an option other than maybe with the folding mirrors.

Hey Mike, can you tell how to remove the shells from the seats? james
Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...
I never removed the backs, I stripped the rest away to oringally wrap them then later I did it again to paint them. Pretty easy to do.Eddie555 wrote:Pm mikefish I'm sure he'll defo be your man to help there.iconic78 wrote:Can anyone tell me whats involved in removing the seat shells/seat backs. Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...
so you never separated the bases? only removed the covers. Basically i want to do the same as you
Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...
Yes I removed the seats from the car. Then peeled the leather away from the back rest. Then you need to pop out the seat belt hoops. they have 3 clips at the top and 3 at the bottom of each half plus a little bit of glue. The best way I found to separate them is to slide a thin trim removal tool from the rear and push up on the bottom side to prise the 2 halves apart and break the glue seal. once the front part pops off, then the back half is held on with 3 screws (think they might be T25 torx). Then you can just pull the leather forward.
The side kidney covers just pop off at the back. There are about 4 clips holding them in. Again use a trim removal tool to prise them off.
I have the seat belt hoops off on mine at the moment so I can take photos if you want.

If you could that would help. Thanks
Re: My B6 Supercharged Stage 1+ RS4 build thread...
Nope. It's Ferrari 458 carbon fibre. I have a mate with 458 aperta and from half a metre there is no difference. They are identical. One place in UK who does this pattern. They exclusively designed it. (I mean copied original 458 weave)iconic78 wrote:Jules wrote:pule333 wrote:Why not?
