Outside Air Temp-High Reading?

Hi All,

Just wondered how accurate everyone's outside temp gauge is. Mine today is showing an optimistic 18 degrees C. Is this normal for the car due to heat-soak from the engine or do I have a faulty sensor?

Is there a way to get to the sensor if it is faulty without taking the entire front bumper off?

John

Maybe it's just unusually warm for October?

Mine doesn't go up with engine temp or car speed or anything like that, it's pretty good. But it was fairly mild today I think.

My one started reading high after I had a forge oil cooler fitted. At first I thought the sensor had taken a knock during the install but it still reads high after a new one had been fitted.

The sensor is relocated with the forge kit fitted so guess that must be the cause with mine.

I have the forge oil cooler and no issues with temp sensor.

Hmm I was going to ask the very same question mine read once 32 degrees and was definitely more like 20

Mine read high most days to be honest I'm convinced mine is faulty

so it's located up front ?

Easy change anyone ?

Interesting, I must have a wiring fault then.

As I live in Scotland I will probably just leave it and assume it is always cold outside...
