Maf sensor

Post by kay » Mon Oct 24, 2016 5:10 pm

Hi folks. It's been ages since I lasted posted, well, since my lazyitis/sleepitis (chronic fatigue syndrome) got diagnosed. 7 years of ownership and stil with the beast. I've still snooped around now and then but a lot of new owners about and very few of the old timers like me left. Hopefully the level of help and expertise this forum has always provided has not declined.
But anyone have any recommendations as to where to purchase a maf sensor. Audi quoting £150 incl vat.
Ever since I got full service done by Audi 2 weeks ago, incl air filter replacement, car has been sounding different.
I put it down to the change of air filter from bmc to oem, until it started to sound slightly rough and hesitant and cutting out. Got it diagnosed locally as maf sensor.
I wonder if the oem air filter installation by Audi triggered maf to malfunction???
Appreciate the help.

I think my maf went when I changed air intake too.
You can get them from TPS or wait for one of those special discount codes for ECP or GSF.

Carparts4less ( a subsidiary of ECP),£113 with free delivery. Then minus £15 using code for over £100 spend. Genuine oem Bosch.
Maybe I should challenge the dealers; they may have oiled the oem air filter too much on installation and as a result caused maf to fail.

I don't think they oil the OEM filters, I thought they were dry and just swap for a new one at serivce time.
