Water leak ? B7 rs4

Post by Grizwold » Sat Sep 24, 2016 7:14 pm

Hi just got back from a drive in my 06 rs4 & noticed water leaking from under
The car , it's not at the front where the rads are but underneath
On off side . About where the footwell is on passenger side ??
Any ideas ?
The only thing I can think of other than a leak would
Be I've used air con today but it seems too much water for that
& the coolant reservoir hasent gone down

Any help would be appreciated thanks

If it's your nearside/passenger side, check your screen wash hasn't gone down. Try all the washers, windscreen, rear & light washers and see if the leak gets worse...

The washer reservois is made up of 2 pieces . I think one just sints on top of the other with a rubber seal. It could be the seal between the 2 causing the leak, in which case it won't leak if it doesn't have plenty of water in (otherwise it will be below the join line).
Did you try to smell it? Coolant smells differently from washer fluid.

As above, also the washer pumps are behind the front nearside archliner where it meets the front bumper. There's 1 pump for front & rear, and 1 for the headlights.
I had a leak a few weeks back - the pipe serving the rear window had split where it connects to the pump.

could it possibly be condensation from the air-con

Thanks guys for the replies .
Started car up this morning , water was dripping constant took it for a 10 min
Drive got back it had stopped , had it ticking over for a few minutes , put air con
On & it started dripping again .
Do you think there's a fault somewhere ,
Any one else had this when air con put on straight away

The aircon will drop water under the car around the front passenger seat.
