Just found this post after being away for the last week. Never saw your car but know you're a regular contributor to the forum and the sentiments expressed so far pretty much sum up how I'd feel. We all know how much ours cars mean to us, so I can imagine how pi$$ed off you're feeling buddy. Hope it works out OK with the insurers and, whichever way you jump (repair or replace), you're back in an RS4 real soon. Keep us updated.

Cheers guys. Trying not to think about it to much st the moment. Just awaiting the dreaded call from the insurance with the outcome.

It's funny. Decided to have a look about at what I could replace it with including different makes/models. There really isn't anything in that price range that comes close to the RS4 for performance and looks.

Echoing what everyone else has said mate - such a shame for this to happen to such a well looked after beast.

Fingers crossed that the insurance claim goes through smoothly and satisfactorily!!

Buy her back.... You know you want to!

Cheers buddy. If the offer is right then I would happily have her back. There really is nothing I can find that I would want to replace her with!!!

When my seats were stolen the insurance people wanted 35% of the payout to buy the car back. That should leave you enough to get it all dried out and replace a couple of ECUs

Cheers buddy. I'm almost resigned to the fact I will need to get a bit firm with them to get a decent settlement even before I have heard anything.

Small update.

So got a price for pay out. As per usual it stank a bit and I have gone back with a whole plethora of privately advertised examples for comparison on mileage, condition, age, spec and service history. See what happens now.

On a plus note. They have offered it back as a Cat C for a percentage of the price, so I may still be n RS owner and have myself a nice winter full strip down project to keep me occupied

For sure buddy. I've carried out most of the work on the car except keeping with the Audi/specialist service history and in a weird sort of way I am actually looking forward to the challenge if it all goes ahead. Sort of resided myself to the fact I wouldn't see her again!!.

Question for anyone in the know?. Should the insurer arrange delivery back of the car or will they leave that in my hands?
