FBSW

Post by Harris. » Tue Aug 30, 2016 8:22 pm

Hi , just looking online and found a few for sale , my car don't have a FBSW but if I was to fit one what happens to my original controls on my steering wheel ? The volume control and CD skip plus the MODE button which I think does the phone and Sat nav volume . Obviously ill lose the S button on my dash also what is there on a car fitted with a FBSW .

Thanks

Unless you are dead set on the OEM one you are better off buying a flat bottom steering wheel like the one from a TT-RS. This is a much easier swap and means you get a flat bottom wheel and still get to keep your steering wheel remote buttons.

Hi Mike im not dead set on a Rs4 wheel , id be happy to keep the controls where they are knowing everything works as it should ? So a TT-RS wheel will be a perfect swap over ?

Yeah TT-RS works best as it was available with a manual gearbox whereas as the later RS4 / RS5 / RS3 / RS6 / RS7 etc all had flappy paddles. There was a manual R8 too.
These wheels are obviously all leather without the fake metal bit at the bottom.

Be careful, some of the S-line type wheels are not as thick as the proper TT-RS wheel.
