Life with a Tubi Rumore, milltek non Res & sports cats

Post by birdiemachine » Sat Aug 27, 2016 11:21 am

Finally the car sounds like I wanted it to.

Got the Tubi fitted yesterday. Took over 4 hours as I had inadvertently bought a estate one off eBay in my eagerness at how cheap it was.

Setup now is Gruppe m, milltek sports cats, milltek non res, Tubi Rumore.

The noise, holy <beep>.

Sounds like a mash up of mad max, a c63 on steroids and coke, a rs6 in poor health, mixed with a wounded lions roar as he walks on a upturned plug socket.

Unbelievable.

The wife hates it and has asked when I intend on growing up and reminded that I turned 30 this year and enquired when this nonsense would stop!

On the negative side the police have pulled me twice in 24 hours, first regular traffic stop, second he admitted he just wanted to see what sort of car it was!

Verdict : everyone buy a Tubi and be happier

Have you heard it when you pass a lorry or a low wall?

Yes, the police stopping soon starts to get annoying.

It gets annoying very quickly, your neighbours will also detest you quite quickly.

I think I lasted 4 months then took it off

Have you noticed the throttle to be quite jerky when driving in 1st-2nd around 2-3k revs? When I put the standard exhaust back on the drive was much smoother

I have loads of videos. Some in my build thread.

I had it for about a year. I did love it and still do, but the police gets annoying. I had my car confiscated too remember.

Mine wasn't jerky but I had it mapped at the same time.

If there only would be a rumore with flaps i would order it tomorrow....
Since i have 2 original exhaust systems, one with removed center resonator, what could be the next step in getting it abit louder? What if i replaced the downpipes resonators with straight pipes, would that make a big difference?
Or removing /replacing the rear muffler? Or gut it?

Would be cool to try, and also keep the flaps on and active and see what happens. Anyone has experience with modifying the original pipe to its edge? :biggrin3:

My car is parked right in the middle of three 7 storie buildings, and my neighbors already look at me when i cold start it :biggrin2:
