deals on KW springs?
Re: deals on KW springs?
You should be fine to drop it pretty low and not have any issues. Mine is set pretty low, but could go lower and i have 8 & 10mm spacers. Only thing i did was remove the screw in the top of the front arch liners because that was causing a bit of rubbing. The ride quality is no worse than it was without the springs, the car feels better if anything. I'm sure a few of the guys on here are running 20's with the KW's and have no issues
Re: deals on KW springs?
I guess with it being lower I wouldn't want the suspension bottoming out over speed bumps, although in saying that the bottom out level remains the same but it would just take less to reach that point.
I have removed the clips from inside the wheel arches as it was rubbing for me.

+1 on the ride and removing the screw.Ozzyz wrote:You should be fine to drop it pretty low and not have any issues. Mine is set pretty low, but could go lower and i have 8 & 10mm spacers. I'm running 20s with no issues, but my wheel / tyres dimensions are exactly the same size as the OEM ones i.e. 255/30/20 tyres have exactly the same width, circumference, diameter etc as OEM 19 tyres.
jonytek, how low do you want to go?
What is the point of changing to non SS+ suspension first? The main difference between the 2 is the springs so you will be installing new springs just so you can take them out and installing a different set of springs.
It is possible to do yourself if you can use some spanners. I didn't attempt it but others on here have.
I'd be surprised if you can keep the 12mm spacers, depends on how low you go and what tyres you have (some makes stick out more than others).
Mine is pretty low, but can still be driven enthusiastically. I catch the exhaust flex on one particularly big speed hump but other than that no problems.
Re: deals on KW springs?
FYI, I have never bottomed out the suspension, I mean the flexi scrapes on one bump.
Re: deals on KW springs?
Yeah mike that's what I'm after. Is that as low as you can go or is there still some space there?
The reason that I am considering this is simply for the look. It would be great to be able to drop the car down another 10mm at the back and 20 or so at the front.
I'm currently running a a set of 255/35/19's but want to have the option for going for 20's in the future.

Re: deals on KW springs?
If you fit the correct size tyres on the 20s they will be exactly the same as you have now (assuming same wheel width and offset).
The back is as low as it goes I think but there is more to go at the front.

Re: deals on KW springs?
And the ride is still comfortable and performs well in corners? Are you running spacers?
Re: deals on KW springs?
I did originally have spacers but my wheels are ET26 so effectively a 3mm spacer already. That made it rub the edge of the plastic inner arches away nicely to create a bit more room. I think they sit about right with no spacers. Might be able to get some on the front but there is barely room at the back for a rizzla.
To me it still rides like it did on 19s with OEM suspension other than turn in is a bit better. I had my DRC re-pressurised when I had the springs fitted though. And I'm running SS+ rear anti roll bar (which you have already). Handling may be better but I had a faulty shock just before the suspension was fitted so hard to say how much benefit was due to each.

Re: deals on KW springs?
Perfect. Might hit Revolution up for a set of springs and an induction kit in the next couple of weeks. Also going to need a build thread.......
Re: deals on KW springs?
Back to the main thread - deals. See here to show interest in a group buy, might be able to save some cash if theres others interested.

Re: deals on KW springs?
I have these springs on my avant running 20's with 265 30 20, the rears are as low as they will go and the fronts adjusted to suit, it's a bit of a pig of a job to fit them I left it to my local specialist as the drc with has to be recharged or my local specialist did it with the drc still attached. Comfort wise there is hardly any noticible difference to the ss+ set up.
