Wing mirror glass nicked

Got back from holiday to find someone has helped themselves to the glass from both of my wing mirrors

Having not pulled the mirrors apart before, is there anything more missing than just the glass? Can you get it from Audi separate to the rest of the housing? Anyone got some for sale?

Looks to me like they made a conscious effort to carefully disconnect the wires so you should be fine just replacing the mirror glass.

Not sure if its in the FAQ section or not but there is a thread on removing the wing mirror which gives some idea on how to remove/replace the glass for when your new parts arrive.

I had the same thing done to my sh!tty old Pug 206 outside my house!!!. Times must be hard for people when they are pinching £5 worth of mirror glass from a Peugeot!!!

Probably overheard in a council estate pub that RS4 wingmirrors are worth big money. So, they stole your wingmirrors... not the whole wingmirror housing. Cumbducks.
After getting laughed out off the council estate when presenting the mirrors, I wouldn't be surprised if they came back for the rest, humiliation is a great motivator.

Anyone got the part numbers for the glass?

I found this thread (viewtopic.php?f=35&t=114281) but those part numbers seem different to the ones that remain in my mirror housings.

That's a shame Sam, thieving little scroats. At least the housings haven't been damaged.

I'd check with the dealer on the correct part numbers for your car, but you can have a look through this link here for some more info:

What the hell is wrong with people? What's the point of stealing the glass!?

Bad luck dude :(

As Bam said, they probably meant to go for the housings...which they wouldn't be able to get off without a lot of effort and doing some damage in the process.

That's just some arse hole looking to stick them on eBay ect, if it was just one then I'd say stolen to order but two seem strange. Put a search in your eBay on your wish list and search, nearest distance,... And see if they surface..

Who knows.

However I'd be relieved that was all they took tbh.

I hate mindless theft like this, the cost of buying replacement ones surely outweighs the risk of getting caught nicking it?!
