DRC delete

Post by ashy » Mon Jul 25, 2016 7:54 pm

Just had the front left pipe from the shock split and piss oil all on the underside of the car :x
Took it to audi for a quote to get fixed and it's £1184 apparently for a new front shock (can you not just fit a new pipe?) and pressurise the system with oil... :audibash:
Told them no thanks.
Can get B14 bilstein set up for £750 so going to do that, my question is how do you go about ditching the drc?
Do you have to cap and leave everything after the shocks are removed or do you remove the whole shebang?
Thanks for any help in advance

Cap off from each shock and then close the valves for the DRC pumps from under the car (located on the underside of where the spear wheel normally goes).

Or you can just pull the old system and lines out, about 1 hour of work tops. I am not seeing very many people go back, at least I won't! Bilstein is a solid/safe choice and the route I took with PSS9's. Only downside is obviously that the range is not as broad as the DRC without adjusting it for the road conditions you experience.
