just a thought about the coking up

Looking at all the pictures of coked up and de-coked cars i can't help but notice how rough the casting is. Would it be better to have that polished to make it harder for the carbon to adhere to?

The valve itself is a fairly polished surface and that still gets mucked up. It may be beneficial but I doubt it would be significant enough that you would notice.

yeah i suppose so, just frustrating you can't have the engine at it full potential without spending silly money every 5 to 10k..... or whatever it is....

This is what I was thinking too, surely we could coat it, possibly a ceramic coating. This way it would be highly heat resistant as well as non stick.
