Larger wheel spacers < 10mm

Post by jonytek » Tue Jul 12, 2016 11:05 pm

Guys im getting my wheels refurbished next week and thought it would be a good time to fit some spacers for a bit more of a mean stance. I have just been looking online and have seen they come in wider formats 20mm, 30mm etc. I will be fitting them to my B7 with stock alloy wheels and was wondering if anyone has fit anything wider than the popular 10mm choice? Will anything else fit? Do the 10mm spacers even make much of a difference? It can be hard to tell from the photos online
Thanks.

With stock RS4 wheels i SM running 8's in the rear, lowered with DWS06 and that is as much as I fit. I know the MTM's are 10's but lowered I doubt I fit those with my 275/30/19. Fronts I am running 5's or less with same dimension. Keep in mind most kits/spacers are sold as total width.

Thanks seattle, I'm not planning on lowering any time soon so im sure ill be fine with the 10s. I think I may have misread the products - they were probably their respective total widths, not per corner. I think a 30mm increase would push the wheels out or the arch.

Covkiller - lol, I dont think ill be quite this wide which is a shame because id love a little of that six appeal. :smile_smoking:

I've got 10mm ECS spacers all around on my stock wheels. Brings the rims out to flush, more or less.

For chuckles, i put one side wheels on without the spacers to see what it looked like. Egads, but that 10mm was visibly noticeable. Made my RS4 look like an old E-Type, at least in my eyes.

I use them with my narrower winter tires as well, as without them, it makes my RS4 look like a WRC car on motorcycle-width ice tires.

I'm on 255/30-19 PSS at the moment, which look a bit narrow on the stock wheels. No rubbing or scraping with them and the 10mm spacers. Curious if increasing the width when I buy the next set of PSS will improve looks, and if it will affect steering response with more sidewall squirm. Time (and another thread) will tell.
