Hi

Can anyone tell if this is a TT-RS steering wheel or one from a standard TT? I'm assuming it's one of these although I have no information to suggest it's defo one of these. Cheers!

Looks like a TT-RS wheel to me.

Here's mine for comparison (although it has been retrimmed in alcantara):

Thanks Faisal.

Yeah, this one is also trimmed in alcantara. I wasn't sure as I can't tell from the picture if it's the chunkier TTRS wheel or thinner TT one but I'm hoping it's the former.

What you could do if its the small one is have it re-trimmed over the top of the existing to make it have chunkier feel.

Fairly sure it's TTRS always hard to tell though from pictures mines fully perforated so looks different to the eye.

Could be from an R8, looks the same as what I had which is where mine came from.

just curious is the ttrs wheel considered better than the b7 rs fbsw or just a different way of upgrading from the standard round job?

All personal preference buddy. Some don't like the silver bit at the bottom. It is a Gallardo wheel though of that means anything to people, lol. Some like steering wheel controls too.

I'd tend to agree with Deano. That looks like an R8 wheel due to it not having the badge cut out. They are all pretty similar though to be fair.

The only other thing I know about it was the price for the steering wheel and parts which was £1195.
I don't know how much the ttrs or R8 wheels are to buy though.

i actually find the fbsw a little awkward tbh, like the allegros and rover sd1[quatric] :bash: fine in a straight line though-and yes the silver bit is a little "toy car" i suppose-the buttons on the fbsw look better than the typical audi rockers on those pictured though..

Generally people fit the TTRS wheel as a straight swap for the standard multi function wheel. This is a much easier way into the flat bottom steering wheel world and has the added benefit of having volume control etc and does away with the plastic bit (which I quite like).
TTRS wheel is popular as it is similar thickness and comes with no flappy paddles.
To convert from the standard multi function wheel to standard flat bottom wheel is much more involved.
And the more common conversion from standard flat bottom wheel to TTRS type wheel is also more involved as you need a new wiper stalk, need to move the sport button etc.
