Possibly selling my RS4

Post by JmRS4 » Sun Jun 26, 2016 9:04 pm

Evening all. I'm in the process of starting a mortgage and I'm thinking the RS4 might have to go. Would anyone on here be interested if it comes to it? Gutted about it really and want to do my best to keep it. It's been a cat c write off repaired to a reasonable standard but it has a few things which could do with being done to get it looking better. Front grill is cracked, few trims are damaged on passenger side and paint isn't the best in places. On the plus side though it's sprint blue and only got 50k on it just had a carbon clean and stage 2 map at MRC with gutted precats and cold air feed. It has buckets, carbon trim and front and rear parking sensors with daytime running lights. Like I say I want to try and keep it as I feel my time with it is far from over Image. Message me if interested. Thanks.

You've got the worst of all worlds here - Cat C obviously means you'll get less money for it, needs tidying up and you've invested money in it with the remap etc. You simply won't be able to buy anything better with the money you'll get for it.

Just my 2p.

Cheers,
Bryan

Thanks for replies. It's the full fat tax I'm afraid! I bought it for £13500 last July and spent money shortly after getting fan control unit sorted at unit 20 which cost around £1000. Then I've had the carbon clean and remap done which was about £1600. I know it's all dead money when selling a car but it's something to consider surely? Will find out from the bank within next couple of days about outcome of application so we will see.

I think a saving of £200+ on tax is pretty negligible in the grand scheme of owning a RS!!

Think mines registered in April or May. Just outside of the cut off date!!

True but I wouldn't base a car purchase on how much the tax is!!!.

That's basically what you are implying by saying "sod paying nearly £500"!!!
