Clutch change parts

Post by RS4MAT » Sat Jun 25, 2016 10:35 am

Hi Guys

I have placed an order at Audi for all the relevent parts for changing the clutch on my 2007 RS4. I have been experiencing the sticking pedal issue for a while so need to get it sorted (Nurburgring next month)

List of parts ordered -

DMF
Clutch plate
Cover
Release bearing
Guide sleeve
Slave cylinder

Think ill order some manifold studs as a precaution.

I have 2 questions though....

1) Does anyone know the fitting sizes on the clutch line flexi hose?. I''m going to make up a uprated replacement.
2) Anything else i may have forgotten?.

Cheers guys

Have you placed the order??

I have just done the same but got the DMF £339.62 from Rockauto in the states no import and no vat.. Clutch and slave cylinder from eurocar parts with discount codes.. Did the gearbox and diff oil at the same time. My manifold studs also needed drilling out during the change.

Car is completely different now - sticking has gone...Gearshift light and positive...

My DMF was goosed slack as and the clutch plate was down to 6.63mm ...

I already have the 'uprated pipe' as it wasn't dear from garage direct.

Thanks for the response guys!!.

I got everything from Audi at trade prices so it wasn't as bad as i expected :assflash:

Im doing the job as we speak. Theres no apparent damage to the clutch cover spings as many people report. All parts look very worn though, clutch plate is down to the rivets! I just hope that all the new parts cure the issue, i have checked the pedal and it feels good. The only original part remaining is the clutch pedal m/c so if i do get any issues, it can only be that. All thats left now is to refit linkages etc, bolt up subframe, fit propshaft, exhaust and it's done!!.

Wont be able to test It yet as i broke the crank sensor.... School boy error :bash:

Quick update.

Fitted the new crank sensor the night before the 1500 mile trip to the Nurburgring and all was good. Obviously it was the first time i was able to test the clutch after fitting it and its was perfect :jump: I'm really happy with the car now, its a joy to drive again.

10 hard laps of the ring was a good way of putting it to the test :thumb: :thumb:
