Apologies for the lack of updates, but it's been incredibly busy.
Progress to date on this includes: original bumper/trim purchased, initial 3D scan data taken, initial CAD mock-ups created.
Prototype is yet to be constructed, but is amongst the next steps (which also include refined 3D scans/CAD - at which point, the imagery should be of sufficient quality to share).
Plan to send out a newsletter on progress to all that have subscribed via the poll on the website, including images of the prototype, once it is completed.

The boot hinges are definitely not from a B7.

It's a B8 that I'm familiar with. An A4 that's been very heavily modified with widebody, etc. and even a V8 powerplant.

Just an idea, I found this video on YouTube, the RS4 cabby has a carbon rear diffuser which I think is quite nice. It looks quite OEM and not sticking out too much. Not sure if it can be used on the avant or sedan (mine is a cabby).

It appears to be made by a company called CDC Performance. Have anyone heard of them?

Good find!

The shape of that looks great - you get a good look at it around 0:50 into the vid.

Looks like a one off carbon part though; their website alludes to custom made parts, and 3D scanning techniques as Nick is using.

Absolutely! :)
At the risk of sounding overly critical, both of the recent examples look like one-off, hand-laid, manually crafted parts, as both have a few imperfections.
Again, don't want to come across wrong so please review them in detail yourself (preferably on a computer with a decent graphics card and large monitor) and make your own mind up, but a couple of clues included below, to illustrate how I would reach such a conclusion:

By comparison, a snapshot of some of the CAD data used for the B8 diffuser, which was then used to CNC machine the mould that the parts are made from:

The 'slices' shown on that image were just one of the sets applied to ensure accuracy, symmetry and that the light reflected in a consistent manner that flows across the surface.
Massively over-engineered, perhaps, but an example of the attention to detail applied. :?

...and as for the CF window surrounds... personally, I'm not a fan of 'stick on' CF parts.
In fact this old article sums it up for me, and IMHO.
