Was in for a service yesterday, Audi say two relays are dodgy. €170 to replace them.

Seem reasonable?

Id say go for it.
Theyre a pig to get to and if Audi will stick to that price, get them to do it.

Really?

Hopefully the relays will sort it, just have to wait and see I guess.

I thought so, then I read a thread on here earlier (Faisal maybe?) who said the relays seemed to have fixed his issue so maybe you have the same fault.

Sorry pal, I hoped I was wrong.

Had mine down now, starts so much better!
The starter relay error was the same as the one that I used to get. I didn't get the other errors you have there though both mention the engine control module so possibly related to each other).

Booked in for Tuesday anyway, see what they say.

It's very seldom that it happens, but I guess that it may just get worse if I don't get it sorted.. hopefully they won't take the 7 hours that they quoted originally...

Guys, can anyone confirm the part number?

I think it's 079911023D, but wanted to confirm before I go shopping.

Got the dreaded call anyway, new starter required, they will cover the part, but I'll be charged the labour, 8 hours... €900 :(

Can you challenge that? It is not an easy job but 8 hours is a bit severe!. If you drop the ARB & engine mount then it makes access to the starter motor much easier.

I did challenge it all right, It's quite excessive.
They said they tech has done one before and that was the time taken.
I've no access to Autodata or the like to see the recommended time so am a bit limited in what I can say to them about it.

They did say if took less time they would adjust accordingly all right.

However if I take it somewhere else while they may take half the time, I'll have to pay for the part then, so may not end up much better off
