Car Not Starting - Anyone Had This?

i'm having similar issue, depending on what codes you get, it is possible the fuel pump or starter relays are on its way out. i had all the codes that is pointing to one source but i can't tell at the moment without a wiring diagram for fuel or starter, and audi workshop won't tell me so i'm going to have both changed and see what happens.

Finally got round to the VCDS scan this evening. The car has started fine since I had the issue on Wednesday; probably a dozen starts in that time.

I'm booked in at a local indy tomorrow to swap over the 2x relays, hopefully that sorts it. I've got the relays and one other job to do, so I'm taking the lazy option and letting someone else do them for me!

Dump of the scan below. There's an Engine Control Module fault common to many of the errors. I'm wondering if the MAF and engine mount codes are unrelated though - I guess I'll have to see if they're still there after the relays are swapped out.

Did you have a flat battery? Low / flat batteries can throw all kinds of errors and some of those faults have the voltage shown as 0v.

Just to come full circle on this, in case someone else has the same symptoms and comes across this thread...

Not had an issue since the relays under the ECU were swapped out. Part numbers earlier in the thread.

I was just thinking about this; without the forum and Vagcom, I bet a lot of people with this kind of issue would go to a dealer. Who knows how much they'd charge and what parts they'd start swapping out!

Had the hot start problem for first time yesterday, sometimes in past the car has struggled when hot as in cranking over for a couple of seconds and splutter into life but no fail. Opened bonnet, cooled down for a bit an it started... Ill look out some relays soon i think, always something!
