Any B7 owners wiling to help.
Guys
Im seriously considering getting a B7,prob is i've never even sat in 1 let alone driven 1.Would anyone consider taking me for a run out in 1.
Don't expect to drive, just a passenger ride and chat with someone more knowledgeable about them than me. I love my B5,but cant scratch that V8 itch.
Im based in Herts, but willing to travel a bit, coffee and bacon butties on me .What you say,?
Thanks in advance.

I'm in a similar position to Mav8, have had many other cars, inc a UR Quattro, but never a V8 B7. I'm in Herts too, North Herts/Beds boarder. If Mav8 does not mind, It would be great to get a ride and chat over a bacon sandwich and cup of coffee.

I think my PM about the Paul James car may have just extinguished the flame on that one for you.Quattro3232 wrote:I'm in a similar position to Mav8, have had many other cars, inc a UR Quattro, but never a V8 B7. Re: Any B7 owners wiling to help.
I posed exactly the same question when I was in your position and someone on here helped me out. Only fair that I do my bit and offer another forum member(s) a blast.
I'm in Tewkesbury, which is J9 off the M5 if that's any good to either or both of you. Let me know if that's any good, but I won't be offended if you say it's too far to travel.
Cheers,
Bryan

Re: Any B7 owners wiling to help.

Surrey Sam...yep fire well and truly put out. I will PM you in a bit, thank you for your help.
Briggy thank you, Tewkesbury is a stretch for a bacon buttie but your offer is really appreciated.
Fatneck 73, very kind also. I'm trying to free up my Saturday to come to the Rolling Road day, but my eldest has a birthday party and I'm not sure it's the place to bring my youngest daughter for a day out....or so my wife says!

Re: Any B7 owners wiling to help.
Quattro3232 & Mav8 - no problem at all. Good luck with your search. Ask on the forum on PM me any questions you have about the B7 RS4. I may not be an expert, but I'm happy to give an honest answer, warts and all. These cars have many imperfections, but they're soooo rewarding to drive and own. One of the very few cars that motorbike riders slow down to give you "the nod".
Cheers,
Bryan

Cheers Bryan. I have to say that the help offered across this forum has honestly amazed me, only eclipsed by the knowledge of you guys. I'm in no rush what so ever...but will stay looking. When looking at any car it's the warts that are more important than the shine...will add you to my little black book. Cheers Jonathan

Re: Any B7 owners wiling to help.
Just a thought...
Are there any other owners in Herts area who would fancy maybe a Sunday morning breakfast meet in next few weeks? Mav8, I never been in a B5 before so would be good to see it also. I have only been to AITP and there doesn't seem to be a great deal of meets in our area. Quattro3232 could also come them and maybe see a few examples.
Got a mate who would probably bring his C63 along. We sometimes go for drives on Sunday mornings and then get breaky at Coast To Coast at Stevenage leisure park. Loads of space to park and quiet in the morning. Or could even do Hatfield if that suited others better as we could also fit in a bit of Hatfield Tunnel fun on the A1.

There were no bacon butties involved in that though - it didn't even occur to me!Briggy wrote:I posed exactly the same question when I was in your position and someone on here helped me out. Only fair that I do my bit and offer another forum member(s) a blast.

OP - if you're ever near Coventry then drop me a PM - I'm always happy to help if needed. I'm in no way as knowledgeable as some on here, but I can point the basics out. Alternatively I may be taking a trip to Milton Keynes over the next few weeks to hit the snowdome - not sure how easy thats for you to get to etc.

Hey Mav8,
You are so not going to regret this *winks
Like you in December just passed, I eventually took the plunge in purchasing my first RS4 B7. Like you the car I purchased was my first experience of sitting in and driving. I've owned many Dubs and Audis, so slightly crazy, but kind of new what I was getting and the thought of not enjoying the ride, handling etc just didn't even come into it. I think that doing your research (6 mnths) incl. trying to find the right spec Vs. condition Vs. price and backed by the fact that I had it's full history from Audi in advance of viewing and the previous seller's advert with extensive vehicle details incl. options. Meant that all I had to make sure of was that it matched just that. The owner also kindly got the vehicle serviced prior to picking the car up which incl. 8 plug changes too
.
Another tip is get the drive in as well and that it's normally cheaper to initiate a policy as you get a 30 day cooling off period and cancel rather than get a day's cover from your existing insurer.
I have to say that flying up to Aberdeen and then driving 550 miles back is the first of many unforgettable RS4 journey's that I'll never forget.
