Hi I am very tempted to pull the trigger on a Milltek.
I have been doing a search with conflicting reports, and I just need confirmation and clarity.
I have done the Valve open all the time mod and removed the resonators on the standard exhaust. So my question is:
A, Will a Non Res, non Valved Cat back Milltec be louder (which is what I want)
B, roughly how louder will it be over my current exhaust set up?
B, is the above the loudest version they do, IE, is it louder than the resonated version and the vavled version ?
Thanks in advance guys

The non res is the loudest of the 2 options. There are louder exhausts if you want really loud though.
Yes, the non res will be louder than your current set up. I can't say by how much though.

The non res will drone though. And catless will be louder of course.

Hi mate thanks for the response and you know your stuff.
I don't want silly loud, just at the point of acceptable !!
I guess the million dollar question is, is it £1100 worth of more nice noise than my current setup !! Oh and I really like the black tips as well !!!

From what I've read, a non-res Milltek is the wrong side of acceptable!

If its a little on the wrong side, I can handle that, so it should be quite a bit louder than my current setup?

I paid £900 for mine, I would
Shop around.
Loads of vids on
YouTube with different exhaust set ups. It's worth listening to a few and decide what you like.
Non res is a really nice grumbly tone and although it will be louder it won't be offensive, decat is offensive!

Hi thanks for the info, Its hard to gauge on the clips to be honest!! Ive found a place for one for a £1k fitted, with the black tips, which I think is ok.
So how would you prepare it to the standard zaust with flaps open and no resonators ?

Get yourself to the Midlands meet on Sunday. Pretty sure there will be a few different exhausts on show. As its in the Midlands it can't be too far from you.

i have a non res non valved Milltek and my car is used as a daily - yeah it is pretty loud and you'll hear me coming alright but i guess i have got used to it as it is just the norm now. the drone is bad, you have to learn how to drive around that but you can drive it and it almost seem civilised. if i floor it though, you can hear the car from some distance ha

I have a non res valved cat bypass Milltek system. It is load and does drone at 2k revs, but I'm not at 2k revs for long.
At 8k revs in 3rd in a Grenoble tunnel it screams its absolute bolx off and sounds fantastic. At 180mph on the Autobahn it is deafening.
For general use I love it as it pops and bangs.
Mind you at this Sundays meet NJMAudiRS4 has a JC Weldfab ulous system which I'd like to go out in to experience at 2k revs. At the last meet we had a rev off and both were bloody load and sounded about as good as each other. I'm sure we'll have another rev off this Sunday too.
