Going rate for mk2 RNSE ??

Post by HYFR » Sat Mar 12, 2016 4:17 pm

Hey guys

What's the going rate for a mk2 RNSE nowadays?

I have one to sell but not sure what you guys are paying for them now.

Also what would you put on top for a PX with a mk1 unit ?

A quick check on eBay shows the Mk2's are going for anywhere from £400 upwards.

£400? Please post the link?

I don't think they are that cheap

This is a OEM B7 unit

Not a A3 unit with open heart surgery

There were no Mk2 OEM B7 units. You mean an A3 unit one already converted?

Seat Exeo unit = B7 platform

I paid £700 for one a couple of years ago and had to do the fascia swap over myself DK. Imagine there are a few more on the market now lowering the prices?

yes this is a genuine OEM Exeo unit (aka B7 platform) - but it DOES NOT have any SEAT logo's / markings etc

I just realised I do need a PX

If anyone is interested in their Unit +£300 then hit me a PM

As others have said already here is no such thing as an Audi A4 Mk2 RNS-E.

The options are a SEAT Mk2 unit or an Audi Mk2 unit from an A3 or TT with the faceplate swapped - describing that as open heart surgery isn't something most people who have done it would agree with, it's a fairly simple procedure that doesn't involve disassembling the unit.

Most people go for the latter as the price premium on a SEAT unit is hard (impossible for most people)to justify since there is no difference to the electronics or the mechanics.

I paid just over £400 for a mk2 version out of an S3 about 4 months ago.
I'd say 400 is what to expect outright.

The face plate swap looked way to complicated to me

You are being pedantic as usual, this is a genuine B7 unit, I.e it has not been tampered with.

The fact it went into a B7 with a SEAT badge and not an Audi badge has no bearing on the unit!

Btw, unlike the SEAT unit in the link, mine has no SEAT logo on start up, it has Audi MMI start up screen

I'm not being pedantic, just accurate - which is what professional Chartered Engineers are expected to be.

What is the part number prefix on label the unit? I wager it's 3R not B7 so it would not be "a genuine B7" unit, but it IS a genuine 3R unit - which is electrically and physically compatible with a B7.
