VCDS Coding Issue

Post by Donovan » Sun Feb 14, 2016 11:24 pm

Finally got around to having a bit of a tinker with the VCDS today and attempted to recode some basic modifications (windows on key fob etc.)

Anyway, I made sure to read up on how to go about it before starting, printed off a list of my current module coding so I had a baseline to go back to and then used the Ross-tech wiki to better understand how the coding works and what values I needed to change, but I'm having no luck.

The problem I'm having is that the Software Coding values don't save. I click "Do it!" after ammending the value to include the change I want to make and it reverts to what it was. The only way I could actually get the value to change at all was to use the feature that allows you to scroll through each byte and make changes by selecting / deselecting various check-boxes. Unfortunately, the things I wanted to change weren't in that list.

I've read something about certain modules requiring a login code before you can recode them, could this be the case here?

Did you hit test. Then save. Then get out of that screen and then click do it?

Enabling the comfort features is a special case - you have to change the coding to enable any special features and then change the value in the adaptation channel to enable the specific comfort features you want.
