Keep it full Audi as this will keep the future value up. Buyers still look for FASH despite the fact an independent could do a better job and potentially have more experience with the RS models.

Everyone has a different opinion on this but I prefer to take it to an independent.

Just had mine done. I wanted to supply my own oil and plugs, not a problem. I got a really detailed report on the condition of various bits and pieces over the phone and a summary on email. They also took care of a few minor things for free. No chance of all that at my local stealer.

Cheaper too.

Having said that, some people really value a full Audi history (I'm the opposite). How good is your local stealer?

Id take it to an independant in 5000 miles time and get them to stamp the book

If its not a very well known dealer then it could affect the history, i currently have two service books.. the orginal Audi one which was all audi up until last year, then anything i've had done private is all kept in a seperate book.. any purchases i've made, wheels, tyres, pads all that.
I do most of the work myself but it'll be going to a indi when its actually "due" a service so they can give me a receipt.

I wouldn't take my RS near my local Audi stealer, their service department are totally incompetent.

This!! ^^
Make sure you get a detailed report from the stealers.
In my short time of knowing them, you really have to be on the ball...

The market prefers full Audi history come re-sale time, another 5 years from now maybe different perhaps? Personally, I'll always choose a good dealer over an average independent.

Well when i had my rs2. went to audi for some parts.
To be told audi did not make a rs version of the a2 it must be an s-line... :audibash:
But always get most bits from them for rs4 just do it all myself. no service stamps receipts galore mind.
