Hi folks, was out in my car 3 days ago & it performed faultlessly as it has since I bought it back in August last year! Put it away in the garage when I got home but have just gone to get her out again now & the EPC Light has come on/stayed on! Drove a stones throw up my street & back again & it still seems to drive fine & as it should, any ideas what's likely to be wrong??? :?

It would be silly to guess mate, you need to hook up VCD's and then you can get some sensible feedback :biggrin3: :blackrs4:

Just been out in it round to my mates house (max. 1.5 miles there & back) & the light's now switched itself off & behaving as it should :? Still worth hooking up to a diagnostic machine to see what brought it on in the first place though would you say??

Definetly worth hooking up and checking, could be a fault that might prove more common as time goes on who knows? for the sake of plugging it in and reading the codes i'd do it.

Had this the other week, turned out to be the MAF sensor after running a scan.

Same symptoms as mine, light came on but car still drove normal then light went off again of its own accord??

I think my car was lying just over a week and the same thing happened, the EPC light came on.

There were no abnormal running issues, i turned off the car, restarted it and the light went off.

Later on in the day the light came back on, after a few miles the light, (touch wood) has stayed off, and done approx 150 miles
and the light has stayed off.

Is it maybe with lying a while in this damp, frosty weather?

Kev.

I had exactly the same fault with mine, intermittent EPC light coming on, more and more over time, then eventually more and more over a period of 2 years.
Turns out it was the flaps in the inlet manifold becoming worn.
It could be this or a number of other things but worth the heads up for ideas as I was stumped, putting up with it until the engine management light came on and stayed on.
Hope you get it sorted, if not already. :thumb:
