Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
Re: Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
^ I was going to ask if this was possible. Also, they need to honour their published prices. Take a screenshot and send it to them (possibly too late now).
Bad luck though Pete. Hope it starts to look up from here bud.

I will be refurbing the caliper for sure. Haven't seen the damaged nipple yet but I think it's the caliper thread that's damaged so will have to either drill and tap to next size of nipple up, or helicoil it.
As for the price farce on replacement from Stoke, I would have gone down that road but I lost interest when he said 10 days delivery time as they're on back order.

Re: Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
Just to close out the loop on this thread, I have had the car back now for over a week and I have to say I am really glad I did the clutch and DMF. The gearbox is now a joy to use again, no notchy or difficult engagement (especially for 1st). The pedal is nice and light and the biting point is nice and low.
In the end, the labour came out at £440 + VAT for everything inc all the hydraulic pipe/hoses, slave and master cylinders, clutch and DMF and of course the replacement front caliper which cropped up. Very pleased overall, would also recommend McEvoy Motors in Carryduff for any RS owners in Northern Ireland. He definitely knows what he is doing and certainly seems to have a done all the work on my car to a high standard.

Glad to hear all sorted Pete I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get mine sorted soon too. You happy with the quality of work and how they looked after your car then?
Re: Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
Probably the best place for RS's in NI. I know the mechanic very well.
Re: Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
First post I know, but just noticed a few NI boys on here and it's good to see somewhere local being recommended to work on these! From dromara direction myself.
Just bought a sprint blue avant from Hollybrook last week there so will get round to sticking up some photos soon. Would be good to meet up with a few fellow local RS owners at some point an all.

Hey Gav, was that the one with the black optics? Looked like a good price for a Hollybrook car. Definitely be good for an RS meet, between you, me & John we'd have 3 Sprint Blue Avants. Would make a good photo I'm sure.

Re: Gear Selection - Advice/Help needed
Pistolpete it certainly was the one with black optics. Thought the price wasn't too bad considering it was a hollybrook car, plus it was the spec and miles I was after so just went for it. Was after a noble or gtr, but work in oil and at the minute with prices the way they are I just played it safe.
There's an RMS free bbq and meet at Kerrs tyres this Sunday in Belfast I'll be going to if any of you fancied coming along. Would be good to get a chat to you all.
