When to change the tyres
Evening chaps. I'm sure I've seen a thread on this before but of course can't find it now I need it
The tread depth on my tyres vary between about 3.5 and 4mm and I've got a set of new Michelin PS in the garage ready to fit when necessary. I'd be interested to know when you change yours. I won't be using the car much over winter and not in snowy conditions, so am tempted to wait until the spring and change them then. On the other hand the existing tyres are pretty crappy grip-wise (Pirellis) so it might be better to change now.
No biggie I know, but any thoughts/advice would be welcome.

Re: When to change the tyres
I believe stopping distances in the wet really suffer after 3mm, so that's where I normally change.
Perhaps switch the 4mm onto the front if they're on the rear at the moment, to get the last bit of life out of them.

Re: When to change the tyres
2m min, 3m if I'm fed up with them.
Re: When to change the tyres
I usually change before they get down to 3mm.
That said, as you sort of imply, PSS aren't ideal for winter so if you don't use the car much then wait until spring.

I love serious questions like this.
I can't wait for it to get cold and then we can have " what temp" for the climate thread
