I've come across one station near me where I can pretty much guarantee this is happening, or the fuel is contaminated somehow (Thomas lewis way, southampton).

I've filled up at that Shell station on Thomas Lewis Way 9 times out of 10 for the over 9 years that I've had my RS4 and never had any problem.

Hmm, maybe just a bad batch then, it was quite a dramatic decrease in power, which returned to normal after filling elsewhere. That was the only time I've filled the RS there so could have been a one-off.

My car had a wobble on tesco so went back to shell. It appears no one knows as tuners on my old golf (R-Tech) said get on shell and MRC says tesco.......

My understanding was Shell V Power 99 was unique to Shell, Tesco Momentum 99 was unique to Tesco with the high ethanol content, and all the other 'premium' petrols come from wherever exactly as 'davers6' mentions.

Oh dear what have I started haha. Almost as bad as one of my first posts on here, that started a saloon vs estate slagging match!

Although I now know that saloons are glorified taxis and estates are proper RS audis...

My best mate owns a shell garage, the tanker drivers will not put the fuel into the wrong tank for sure, random check from the managers of hoyer happen quite often and also weights and measures from trading standards alway hover around, my mate said there is no point as you would get caught out in the end.

Although I now know that saloons are the only RS body shape to own and estates are just long enough to slide several baguettes in the back and deliver accordingly...

I filled up with dodgy Shell V Power on the the way to MRC. Just south of Leicester. The difference after draining it and changing to their trusted Tesco stuff wasn't 40 horses so he was probably talking about another car. But it was a lot.

Maybe it was fake. Maybe no one else buys it at that station and it's lying around too long in an ancient tank, therefore getting contaminated. I have no idea.

I used to use that garage when I worked in Hinckley, but diesel v power only.
